Chicago Trip 2012 - Day 5, Part 2

After seeing Willis Tower we walked across the street and had lunch at Giordano's.  I had the chicken oregatano (excellent), a salad with bleu cheese and cheese garlic bread.

After lunch we walked down the street to Garrett Popcorn and got a large Chicago Mix popcorn.  Then we took the red line back to the hotel to change, as it had cooled down significantly by this point.

We rested for a bit then walked to Macy's to look around.

Macy's was a bust.  It was big, but for all its size it was still just a Macy's.  We walked over to Millenium park and stopped at Starbucks where I tried a grande decaf mocha cookie Frappuccino thing.  It was good, but too sweet.

We walked through the park toward the lake, but then we decided it was too cold (yes, too cold - it was blazingly hot up until today, and now we were cold) to walk along the shore, so we walked back to the hotel instead.  On the way to the hotel we walked through Dominick's supermarket which was multi-storied and had a special escalator on which the grocery carts would travel.  Neat.

Also on the way back we ended up on the other side of the river from the Centennial Fountain just moments before it was scheduled to go off.  We decided to stop for a couple of photos and while taunting the fountain for not reaching all the way across the river it gave an extra surge just as the wind kicked up, spraying us both in mist.

When we got near our hotel we also stopped by the Hershey's store.  Earlier in the week a giant, walking Hershey's Kiss had handed us a coupon for an unspecified free sample.  I was expecting something small, like a miniature candy bar, or a single Hershey's Kiss.  We were pointed to the cafe section of the store where we received a thimbleful of some watermelon slush drink.  Lame.
