Winter is here. After almost reaching 80 degrees on Wednesday, the temperature plummeted to below 30 by 7pm Thursday. We had 9 hours of freezing rain Thursday night / Friday morning, and these are the results:

We bundled up and trekked the 1/2 mile in the snow, uphill...both ways :o) for a late breakfast. We also got dinner to go since we have no food in the house.
Funny story: a big, black grackle was resting on an angled branch of the tree in the background. Throughout breakfast he would slowly slide down the branch, reposition himself a little higher, and then slide down again.
After we ate we headed carefully home, downhill this time. Our faces were cold, but we were happy.
