New York/Pet Shop Boys - Day 2

Friday, November 11th - a great day for a stroll through Central Park.

We started off with breakfast at Kellog's NYC, a branded cereal bar just down the street from our hotel.  This was a "Malted Nutty Banana" which included Krave chocolate cereal, malted milk powder, toasted hazelnuts, sliced banana, and skim milk.  It was a good combination.
Who doesn't love cereal?  Not this guy.

The building in the background is the San Remo.  The south tower penthouse is currently offered for sale by Demi Moore.  It was originally listed at $75,000,000, but has recently been reduced to $59,000,000.

We had a short rest back at the hotel, then changed for our evening out.  First stop:  Sardi's for dinner.

We were seated quickly, but had a bit of a wait at the table before being served (though service after that was excellent).  Our waiter was apologetic for the delay and made it up to us with free drinks and a dessert.  For dinner I had a salad with a goat cheese fritter and bleu cheese dressing, fusilli pasta with pork and beef bolognese sauce, and a delicious (on the) house pinot noir.  I chose the bittersweet chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis for dessert.  Todd didn't order dessert, but our waiter brought a complimentary tiramisu to again apologize for our wait at the beginning.  Overall the meal and service were excellent.

After dinner we walked to the Eugene O'Neill theater to see The Book of Mormon.

*ding-dong*  "Hello!  My name is Elder Price..."
The show was terrific in an it's-so-wrong-it's-hilarious way.  I was extra happy that I got to see Daniel Breaker perform live - he was great in Passing Strange and as Donkey in Shrek the Musical (both of which are available on Amazon and iTunes) - check them out).

Last, but not least, I should add that we saw Big Bird in Central Park:

No, this is not actually the Big Bird, but a costumed "performer" looking for tips for photos
Pretty good costume though
Coming up in the next post:  Bryant Park Winter Village, protesting, and Pet Shop Boys.  See you then.
